Sadly the other Time Lord was right. As annoying as they seemed to be getting. The dripping drawl that seemed to come out of his physical lips really just did not belong there. Probably just as much as his didn't belong to theirs. The sooner they got this done, the sooner he could bathe himself of the situation as quickly as possible. Until then, he and the person in his body were going to have to suffer for a while. Talk about a bad day, let alone a bad possible week or month. Gods if it got to a year then he might just find a way to die permanently.
"Fair." he said about the retiring thing then thought for a second, "You got a point about the idea of energy. Something would have to take up a lot of energy. Something that wouldn't exist in this time period. Which means a good source of electricity or some form of alternate power. The only places I can think of for that is sweat shops or a warehouse of some sort. There could be other places, but those are the top two I can think of. Though going and searching every last one just randomly would grow too much suspition. No narrowing it down would be best somehow."
A part of him thought about going to the Paternoster Gang for some assistance, but he wasn't sure how that would turn out with The Doctor body swapped. Besides if they figured it out, the last thing he wanted was for Vastra, Jenny, or Strax to laugh at him for his situation. No he couldn't bear to do that right now. Plus on the other hand if they didn't figure it out, they could think he personally was being rude. And that wouldn't turn over well. No, not unless he absolutely had to, would he go ask for the Gang for help. He'd have to have another place for them to go unless they had no choice. Would he really have to possibly find a way back into his TARDIS somehow with the other person? Heavens that would be putting a lot of trust in someone else.
"Yeah we probably should get out of the open, just in case." he agreed. "The question is, where? Cause if I can't get back into my TARDIS, we'll have to find something else."

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ "Of course it is," he said an irritating smugness that, unlike most of what he had done thus far, did not entirely appear to be out of place. Perhaps it would have been far more in place on the Doctor's face were it not for the clear arrogance that rolled off of him, as if he had been convinced he was right from the beginning.
A frown wormed its way across his face. "More than likely," he allowed. The Doctor wasn't wrong that searching through every sweatshop or warehouse would inevitably attract attention. Though, he had to wonder as to how bad that would actually be. At best, they might actually come across whoever had done this to them. They'd just probably end up in a situation they would have to escape. Alternatively, they'd attract the attention of the police and that was easy enough to get away from. "That does not sound particularly bad. We might attract the attention of whoever did this that way."
"A bit closer to where everyone is might help," he casually said. He found himself pausing as the Doctor mentioned that he couldn't get back into his TARDIS. "What do you mean you cannot get back into your TARDIS?"

Of course he'd thing that. Yeah just blundering in, great idea. It won't be a problem at all. It wasn't like the other knew how he spoke to humans. Granted he didn't know how the other spoke to people either. So there was that. So naturally getting his body into some sort of trouble would not be his idea of fun. But it seemed other other had no problem get his body into trouble. Figured, why did that honestly seem familiar...
The thought tried to emerge and then slipped away as fast as it had come. Oh well, probably wasn't relevant anyway. Even though in reality it kind of was actually, because it was well...The Master after all. But being stuck in that muddled brain started to seem to wear on The Doctor. Speaking of muddle though, he hadn't said he couldn't, he hadn't he might not be able to, there was a difference. After all he didn't have the key, the other chap did. And it was linked to his bodies signature, not this ones. All he could hope was maybe his old girl would recognize that his mind was in this body and not that one that had the imposter in it.
"I said might...not can't. I have to try first." he stated. "There's a difference."
Not wanting to deal with anymore stupid out of the other person, he made his way back to where the ladder should have been for the TARDIS parked still in the sky to attempt to get her to make it show itself.
"Ah come on old girl, it's me! You know it's me! Please show the ladder!" he called out. It was a bit crazy man for him to do that, but she wasn't sharing anything as was. He had a bad feeling she was only going to respond to the body since the minds were probably muddling up her telepathic linking a bit maybe. He side eyed the other, giving The Master a look of slight distain at the fact it would have to be the doctors body to make it work. He still had no idea it was The Master, but it was quite annoying none the less. Was his frienemy having fun dragging him through the mental mud about the fact he was clueless as a bat? At least the Doctor for now would net ever know.
"Looks like you're going to have to give it a go. Unfortunately." he stated solemnly.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The Master looked fairly unimpressed at the correction. "Of course you did," he drawled, hardly in the mood to point out that was not what the Doctor had said at all. Besides, he was becoming convinced that if he didn't at least to make some effort on trying to stay on top they would be here all day. As much as he detested the other Time Lord, his hared did not extend into areas where he was willing to sacrifice his own body out of spite. After all, the idea of looking like the Doctor for the rest of his days was a rather unpleasant thought.
Casually, he followed the other male. He watched his old rival's pathetic attempt at trying to getting his TARDIS to respond and found himself unsurprised when nothing seemed to happen. If the Doctor wasn't lying about quitting- he rather doubted it from what he had seen thus far; this incarnation seemed less talented at it- then he could only imagine his TARDIS might not be pleased at being ignored, at least for the moment.
Then again, the Master didn't know the Doctor's TARDIS well. He had never made a point to try.
He pursed his lips at what the Doctor said. There is no way that will work, he immediately thought when the Doctor suggested he have a try, clearly disliking the very idea. While he wouldn't be too surprised if the telepathic bond between the Doctor and the TARDIS was muddled, it would really have to be quite foggy for her to answer to him. After all, he rather doubted that she had much reason to actually want him to place one step within thanks to his last incarnation.
"Come back," he said, trying to put in some effort to sound genuine but failing.

Oh for the love of Gallifrey! The least the other man could do was put some realism, some sort of effort into it. Make it really sound like him. It was his voice, but it wasn't his confidence his...compassion for his TARDIS.
"Seriously! You're going to have to do much better than that!" The Doctor huffed. "You have to mean it. Honestly, have you never loved something. She likes being talked sweet too. Just...just try will you, and imagine for one billionth of a second that you know her okay! After that...we'll figure things out. But i-...I mean we need to get up there! So we can get us back to where we belong, and I can go back to my sabbatical retirement of isolation."
He wouldn't admit for one billionth of a second that this moment of switch was starting to intrigue him just a little. It was annoying they were switched bodies and once he'd find out The Master was possibly able to be in control of his TARDIS, he'd might rethink, but for now it was an intrigue.
"Please, for both of our sakes." he pleaded.

❧ A look of annoyance crossed his- or rather the Doctor's- face at the suggestion that he was beyond love just because he wasn't imbuing his voice with the same love the Doctor felt for the TARDIS. "Of course I have," he snipped, "It's your TARDIS though; I have no reason to feel the same attachment." If anything, he had every reason to loathe the Doctor's TARDIS. It was part of the reason that the other Time Lord had left, had never bothered to stay in place and was far more concerned with everything that wasn't the Master.
He half-hoped he wasn't listened to.
A sigh escaped the Master and he couldn't help but roll his eyes. "Since you asked so nicely," he drawled, entirely mocking in regards to the notion. He focused a bit more, trying to imagine that he didn't think this entire plot was not going to work and that he wasn't trying to plea to a TARDIS that he loathed and that likely still loathed him. He didn't have many faces to mentally place there, mostly because anyone he actually cared about he'd prefer stayed galaxies away from him.
"Please, come back," he pled to the TARDIS once more, his voice filled with much more emotion this time.

Of course to him it still seemed weak in doing, but it was just enough that apparently the TARDIS even agreed that it was sort of pathetic in nature. Pathetic enough that it decided to give the ladder up so they could make the climb up into the clouds far above. Putting his TARDIS like that was as much a sensible decision as well as a personal choice. Granted most would be detoured from the ship in the first place by its special field, but by putting it up high and out of the way as inconspicuous as possible it allowed extra room to be left alone from possible prying eyes. Especially from anyone who could possibly see through the field to the TARDIS's exterior.
"Shall we?" he gave a gesture to the ladder, but he took advantage of going up first. He was not about to be potentially taken advantage of with his own TARDIS even if he wasn't in his own body. It wasn't too long a climb, but it definitely was a climb in general. One that led up with a spiral staircase eventually and onto a condensed cloud set. In the middle of the cloud was his TARDIS, safe and sound. Now it was just a matter of getting in. The door would unlock to his own genetic signature as well as a key with his data attached to it. So this part again the person in his body would have to do. He wouldn't keep his TARDIS locked so often, but it was habit since the YANA Master to do it more consistantly.
"You'll need to unlock the door." he stated. "I would but the key is in your pocket."

❧ Unlike the Doctor, the Master hardly thought he was doing anything wrong. After all, he thought this attempt was doomed for failure. A TARDIS was not just a ship and it seemed natural that the Doctor's would be able to tell that something was off. If, by some miracle, the ship actually listened, it seemed natural that it would go wrong eventually. The Time Lord was aware enough, despite everything, to realize that the ship might not be that fond of him considering what his last regeneration had done to her. While certainly just as inclined to meddle as he always had, his last regeneration had undeniably been a level of mad even he felt some disgust towards. Sure, he had never felt too much respect towards the other Time Lord's ship, but he'd never exactly been willing to cannibalize her. It was wrong, clear actions of a madman.
He frowned at the sight of the ladder that fell down. He supposed it should have been a good sign, considering it was what they were aiming for. However, he couldn't help but consider what might happen once he was within the Doctor's TARDIS. "Very well." A sigh escaped him as the Doctor almost childishly made to go up first, but he didn't bother to stop the other Time Lord. After all, he could almost understand the sentiment the other was likely feeling. He doubted he would be this flippant were it his own TARDIS after all.
Once the Doctor was up far enough, he began to climb up. It didn't feel like a far climb, but whether that was because that it was just them was entirely arguable. After all, it was fairly high up. He glanced around with mild interest as he came up to a spiral staircase and a cloud set. the TARDIS sitting among it all. Hm, it appeared the Doctor had gotten a touch more...extravagant with age. He doubted he would have gone to this much trouble a few regenerations ago.
He made an absentminded sound before making to grab the key, unconsciously moving to make where he typically kept his own keys. He paused as he realized this. "Troublesome," he muttered before looking through the doctor's coat pockets. A rather judgmental look briefly crossed his face upon finding what looked like a key that could belong to any human door. Moving to the TARDIS, he unlocked the door before making to push the blue box's door open.

Once the TARDIS had been opened, it had felt a bit strange to be going inside it while stuck in a body that wasn't his own. Somehow, because he wasn't him fully, he felt sort of...well...wrong. Like caught with your hand in a cookie jar level sort of wrong. It kind of made his physical body he was in feel itchy. Perhaps it was because he wasn't fully him and that made all the difference. Perhaps, the other who was him, was feeling similar sentiments. The Doctor didn't know however.
He gave his sexy a once over look once inside the front door and then made his way towards the console. Oh here was hoping that he could actually touch the controls. He knew that the TARDIS could be touchy sometimes. Especially to strangers. But so far neither had any reason to pose threat to her, so maybe. Here was hoping that possibly through touch his old girl might get a sense of him in this other body and realize something was wrong. Then again perhaps if she did figure it out, the old girl would have a good laugh at him for getting into such a crazy predicament.
Eyes perusing over the control console he tried to gauge his next move, and that he realized, would end up trying to find where there might be a high consentration of energy readings. Hovering his not hands over the console he looked for the knobs, levers, and switches that would allow him to get readings from the surrounding area. He side eyed the other man before attempting to touch the panel. He wasn't going to lie he partially cringed as he reached out to one of the components. But as he touched the cool metal, nothing happened. Ah so she was such a clever girl and probably felt something at least was up. Good. This would make life at least a tiny bit easier. Last thing he needed was to be blasted across the room from a possible electrical shock from his own TARDIS, though the other man might have found his demise amusing.
"So...best thing that we can do is find out where any strange readings might be emanating from. So we can get this whole mess done and over with." he stated in his not voice. He hated that it wasn't his typical swagger. It sounded more...deep and slick like oil on water. He didn't like it at all.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The Master was often called evil. While such claims could be expected from humans or even the Doctor, it had long ago become apparent that even people he had once been close to had come to judge him even if they had arguably stepped over certain lines. The time lord had simply seemed to become an example of someone who had gone farther than anyone else should. His attitude in this moment was probably an excellent example for this. After all, the man had trouble saying that he felt wrong. It certainly did not feel right, but there was something entirely familiar to it. The time lord had spent centuries surviving just through possession and this felt quite similar.
Though, he had to admit this was far from the appearance he would have chosen. Even if he ignored the fact that his current incarnation was drastically shorter than this, he had also never been this tall. Moreover, this body felt a lot more...awkward, in his opinion, especially when compared to his own. Though, it was clearly a physically younger then his own. While certainly not a bad thing, he couldn't help but dislike it. When had been the last time he had had a body even close to this young? The Time War?
He tried not to think about that, instead focusing on what they were doing.
He watched with a sharp eye as the Doctor headed over to the console, unable to refrain from rolling his- the Doctor's- eyes as the other time lord seemed to radiate discomfort. At least he could be reassured that the Doctor's penchant for dramatics would transcend any regeneration, apparently. On the bright side, the TARDIS seemed to have reacted as he had expected, clearly catching on that something was wrong. It made him a bit pleased that he hadn't actually touched much of anything important thus far. Chances were he actually would have ended up blasted across the room and he wasn't exactly in the mood to deal with whatever grudges the ship had against him.
"Obviously," he drawled. The single word was odd, hitting a deeper tone that was a sharp contrast to the lighter tone this body typically had. Moreover, it clearly didn't quite fit the look of the man. "It should not be too hard to find. Considering what we are looking for, it should stand out a great deal." Not that he expected a human to realize that.
