So let me start by saying I totally vibe with your site. But I have a few questions I'd like to throw at you so I can better decide what character I'm going to join with, if that's okay with you 1. Are doctors (or other canon time traveling people, like river song, missy...) allowed to have additional companions aside from canon companions, if they take advantage of gaps in canon history? (i.e, the tenth doctor's specials during 2009) 2. Can (some, or all of) big finish be considered as part of a character's backstory? (i.e, eighth doctor, river song, missy) and if so: a) can big finish original characters have different face claims (since they're just audio characters), and b) are we allowed to mix-n-match some parts we like from big finish with other parts of our own invention? I think that's all the questions I have for now haha. Thank you for your time I really like your site, I'm rooting for you guys all the way.

1) Yes, Doctors and other canon time-travelers are allowed to have additional companions, but not prior to the game -- any interactions between canons and OCs or canons and other canons that are not in the TV series or spin-offs must be played out in game. Characters that have met the Doctor in Big Finish Audios would be regarded like those from the specials and not regarded as actual companions, but still canon to the series. You are free to take advantage of the time between episodes that we do not see or the gaps that are alluded to, but aren't expanded upon.
2) I don't mind if some of Big Finish is mixed in with the Doctor Who series canon to make for a more cohesive backstory or more detailed characterization, or if you "mix and match" the two, as long as the canon history lines up with what is in the tv series. But, whether or not tv series and audio are combined is up to player discretion.
a) Yes, Big Finish characters that don't appear in tv-canon can have different face-claims since there is no strict play-by or "face" for them. Canons from the tv series must have the face-claim they are portrayed with in the show.
b) As for including your own interpretation, it depends on the character. If the character doesn't have a lot to go by in terms of tv series (like the Eighth Doctor, who technically only had one movie, the War Doctor, or a one-off character, like Sally Sparrow), then you are free to add on your own ideas as long as they make sense and don't clash with the universe and timeline of Doctor Who events and what we see on-screen. Contrarily, as for canons that span whole series/seasons, you have to include their whole tv-history, but can include things from the audio if you want. You can even refer to little things -- like how certain experiences and how travelling with the Doctor could have affected them more than what we saw on the show (i.e, Rose Tyler could be exhibiting slight side-effects from her time as The Bad Wolf, maybe Jo Grant became insusceptible to hypnosis after her travels with the Doctor, etc.). I hope I answered everything to your satisfaction! If not, feel free to reply back to this thread, PM me, or message me on discord <3 I really appreciate your support -- it's definitely needed! And, I'm glad you like it around here -- please do stick around!
