It was quite a wonder. The tree's spired very high into the sky above. The closest representation of that on Earth was that of the largest and oldest trees, like the big redwoods you couldn't even hug your arms around. They were the kind of tree that you could nearly build inside of or around stably. That or travel under because the roots were so high. They were the kind of trees that sparked the imagination about magic and myths. Of elves and tree cities. And although a certain time lord claimed that magic wasn't real in its traditional sense, they too could find themselves entranced by the wonders a place could bring, and even they though they wouldn't admit it, would find it magical in its own right and way. There was a certain sense of mysticism that was for sure. Especially how the vines curved around and went up its tall shafts of trunk, green against a deep rich brown. It truly was a place out of a storybook. It had to be.
A part of The Doctor imagined it could be a place where those tree people could have also lived. They were a neat race that was for sure. It had been so unfortunate a few faces back that he had to watch one die right before him. Burn to death to try and save a ship full of people's lives. They would be forever remembered in his eyes. His eyes closed as he touched one of the trees trunks. He could tell just how alive and warm it felt. Amazing, simply amazing. But as much as touching it made his hearts soar, it also made them feel like they went on the biggest drop of a roller coaster as well all at once. The burden of living so long. You saw it all. The good, the bad, and the definite ugly. He was not going to lie, some days it was just too much. However, it was hard for him to share that with those around him. His companions. He didn't want to seem as weak or a burden upon them. So more often than not, he kept a lot of it at the back of his mind.
Trying to turn his thoughts to better things, he let himself be a bit amused by his fantasy train of though. There had been an episode of an old American show he watched called Star Trek, where the crew of the Enterprise had gone down to this planets surface for shore leave, come to find out, the planet had been able to produce products from the minds of those who visited. This planet, he almost could have swore, could have given off the same sort of vibe. Granted he'd visited so many places that had themes like this in one variant or another. Some were natural, some were man mad, some were parks, some were theme parks. It all depended on the culture and time in space. This one, he wasn't sure what way it was. Though a part of him wanted to be excited to find out. He'd not made it far from the TARDIS and he had already found himself mesmerized by the places enchanting beauty.
