A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL,
- a special group thread on fish & chips
- a special group thread on fish & chips
It would be just so cool (pun intended),
to see a variety of the characters we have on board come together in a Christmas-themed thread. Like a Christmas special/event for the board, but something akin to "Journey's End", where the series ties everything together -- and creates a way for all the characters to interact.
It would be interesting to see characters and Doctors being pulled from their own established timelines, into another world where it is, essentially, a Winter Wonderland, where it is Christmas all the time. It could even be in the town of Christmas -- perhaps a pre-existing version before the one we see on Trenzalore/The Time Of the Doctor. All the Doctors, and all the companions, being pulled to one spot, one place, because the walls of reality are falling apart and this place is the source of it. They are called there, or perhaps requested to go there by some higher power or other means (the psychic paper, the TARDIS, a homing signal, a mission given to them, delivered through a "conference call"/sleeping soporific, or simply teleport-ed there etc.), because Time Needs Them To Fix The Open Wound.
My idea is that, maybe, all of it is a result of all the paradoxes, time fissures and cracks, time crashes, and space disturbances that the Doctors and his Companions have caused over the years and over the course of their lives in traveling. Though, I'm not entirely sure how they would all fix this problem -- could be something simple, or something complex.
Though, the main idea is that characters get to talk to each other, and all of them have to help each other out for it to work. Maybe it requires an exact number of Doctors and Companions before the problem can be resolved to "even out the universe" or something, but once it's done, they can go back home.
Just something fun. Could have a couple monsters along the way, but I imagine the Doctor would be arguing with himself, running into past and future incarnations, past and future companions, and maybe even bumping into his old friend, the Master before things get put right.
If you wanted, we could even add another layer -- perhaps, the whole summons, the whole dimensions breaking, Time Needing Them... this whole thing, could be a trick, an elaborate plan and a devised way for the Trickster to finally get his revenge on the Doctor, and attempts to try to trap him, his other selves, and his friends in the winter world so he could feed off the chaos of the universe without them, and plunge all the timelines and all the worlds into destruction. Personally, I like this better as an over-arching problem to solve -- and the idea that the Trickster could be behind something so believable, but actually be the reason for the damage and the catalyst for bringing everyone together -- in order to take them out of time and space completely. It would also create a universal/character-wide conundrum for them all to figure out, and would explain why there are two threads, with two separate groups of Doctors, Companions, and friends stranded on either side of the Christmas Civilization. But I was going to let y'all choose how mundane or intricate you wanted this to be.
As mentioned, The mechanics of the side-plot itself would probably be split into two separate threads to keep things from seeming too discombobulated, with Doctor/Companion and Doctor/Companion, or Doctor, Doctor, Companion, and another two characters thrown in, or could be randomized depending on who wants to do this. But, if we were able to do two threads(if we had enough players/characters interested for that), it would be interesting to tie both threads together at the end, and have everyone somehow come together in the same place, if, for the sake of orderliness, we didn't start out in one thread from the beginning.
You wouldn't be obligated to join it if you don't want to. It's completely optional, but if the idea did get launched, it would have its own board, its own award, and would become established as canon for the site and all characters involved even after it's finished, and I just thought this could be a fun and unique way to both celebrate the holidays and bring everyone together.
Please feel free to tell me your thoughts -- and any suggestions/additions to this you may have!
