She pushed through those blue doors like she owned them. In fact, she liked to think she did. All of time and space and the sentient snogbox, it had all become such a big story for her to be a part of, and she had been a part of it for such a long time now. The Doctor and the TARDIS had just barged their way into her life, sticking in like a big chin and rampaging the place like attack eyebrows, right into her business -- and, she'd let them bud in, just for the absolute thrill of it all. The wonder and the adventure and the beauty, and all of it out there, at the push of a button or a good tug of the lever. Somehow, it had become a home away from home, and a natural place to gravitate to after her long days of teaching.
But, today was no such day. Today was a Saturday. And, whether the grey-haired timelord had gotten the dates wrong again or merely materialized without caring, she was kind of relieved, as she had grown a bit bored after putting groceries away... until, of course, she heard the indistinguishable sound of the TARDIS arriving in her bedroom from the kitchen, and felt a smile glimmer upon her face as she run-walked towards where she knew he'd be. Amused, and slightly curious of why he always chose that particular spot, but glad to see him none-the-less.
She had a certain request for him. Something they hadn't done in quite a while.
"So!" she exclaimed, running up the corridor and up to her spot at the railing, her eyes aglow as they fell upon him. His tall, slim figure, looking half-Magician, half-Magneto in his velvety coat. "Coffee." She half-suggested, giving him a small, hopeful smile. "Why don't we go get some?" she asked him with with her chocolate eyes, her wrist-watch showing that it was half-past one. Not only had she forgotten it earlier while she had been out, but it was a good a time as any to make a day of it.

It was the wrong day, and certainly the wrong time. Normally, this would seem like the status quo for the Doctor, but this time, it wasn't absentmindedness or an adventure that ran longer than expected. The Doctor just...missed Clara Oswald. She'd entered his life in the most delightfully unusual way, and became a mystery he couldn't resist. How had she appeared so many times in his life, in different ways? It was impossible. She was impossible; his Impossible Girl.
He still saw her like that, even though that title was something his predecessor was more keen on calling Clara. For his current self, "impossible" meant a variety of things, from her impossible-to-navigate changes in mood to her impossible stubbornness to her impossible charm and beauty. She was a challenge, and as anyone who knew the Doctor was well aware, he truly loved a challenge.
When the TARDIS finally materialized and Clara strode in, chipper and glowing like always, he smiled until she mentioned what she wanted to do.
"Always with the coffee, you," the Doctor commented. "I'm amazed you don't bounce off these walls sometimes. Alright, then...coffee. Where? There are endless options. Right here in your part of town, Colombia during the Coffee Wars...oh, wait...that hasn't happened yet. Just wait, though; you haven't seen anything until you've seen a battleground covered in Folgers crystals. Finally, planet Starbucks, naturally. You name it, and we'll get there at espresso speeds." The Doctor grinned, clearly finding his somewhat cringey joke entertaining.

Her brown eyes studied him curiously, her eyebrows coming together and her lips rising in a small, confused smirk. With wonder and wishes alit in her eyes. She turned on her heel ever so slightly. "Planet Starbucks," she repeated in a statement-like question, tossing the idea of it in her head as she tried to imagine it. The name sounded...odd and she felt partially surprised that there were Starbuck's in space. She could swear that he made half of this stuff up sometimes. "Is it... just surrounded by coffee-shops, or is the whole planet orbiting a singular Starbucks in the center?" She wondered, giving him a clever glint as she weighted the different options presented to her. She'd seen a lot of the universe, and she'd seen a lot of him to know what to expect. But, even though, the school teacher had learned a lot, but she was still somewhat of a student compared to the man in the velvet suit.
His grin was contagious, and she found a smile forming on her lips in spite of herself, along with a little laugh that chimed in tune to her skip up the walk-way and towards the console to plant herself beside him. After-all, she still thought the old, daft Timelord was funny after 1000 or so years. "I bet we will," she joked back. Half-teasing. Half-challenging. But, also filled with delight.

"Well, both," the Doctor replied in response to Clara's question about Planet Starbucks. "As in, the entire planet is covered in coffee-themed attractions and hotels and resorts and festivals...and smack-dab in the center of it is the biggest bloody Starbuck's you've ever seen. You can smell the coffee from two planets away; that's how strong it is."
The Doctor busied himself with punching up coordinates on the console and preparing the TARDIS for flight. "I'll warn you, though: people there can be a bit jittery, especially during the Caffeine Festival. Let me just say that I'm glad I learned how to understand fast-talking."
He watched as Clara stepped over to stand beside him. Oh, to see that smile, to hear that delightful giggle. He needed nothing more than to know she was happy and safe and thirsting for knowledge and adventure. It didn't matter where they went, what happened while they were there, and what kept them on the run. All he needed was his Clara, and all was right with the Universe.
"So, ready to get your brew on?" the Doctor asked, his hand poised on the lever. He gestured toward it. "Well, come along, then...can't do it without you."

Her heels followed him unconsciously around the console, her round, brown eyes never leaving his form as he busied himself with pressing buttons and setting the navigation. His commentary earned a perplexed but piqued look from the young school teacher. "Caffeine Festival?" she questioned, her mind whirring with interest and curiosity at the term and event surrounding it. "Planet Starbucks sure knows how to entertain themselves," she mused with a subtlety of sarcasm and a hint of amusement.
She could see the light in his eyes, the lyre of his stare, the desire to dive into this that was just as strong as hers. Her lips broke into a natural smile at his awkward joke. "Of course I am," His odd, punctured jokes always made her smile with viability, and made the shine in her dainty features just right. Her chocolate almonds met his azure stars as she took step beside him, and placed her hand atop his upon the lever. She loved moments like this. It's what she lived for.
"Wouldn't dream of doing it any other way."

"Me neither," the Doctor replied, and with a quick flick of their combined hands, the lever was pulled, and the TARDIS was on its way to Planet Starbucks.
It didn't take long before the scent of freshly ground coffee beans began to filter into the Console Room. "Ah, see? What did I tell you? We've entered the planetary system." He wet the tip of his finger with his tongue and placed it in the air. "Pike Place, Reserve Blend, 2189. They're going to be busy." He looked up and noticed Clara's curious look. "What? You didn't think I've gotten to know my coffees? I sort of had to, traveling with you, dashing about for your fix of Jitter Juice."
When the TARDIS came to a rest, the Doctor looked to Clara and smirked. "Alright then, Coffee Girl. Off ye go." He made his way to the door and opened it to find scores of beings from every corner of the galaxy milling about, sipping at cups both insulated and clear. The air was rich with a variety of scents, the most predominant being the ground coffee they smelled on the way to the planet.
"Starbucks was wise to lay claim to this planet, ye know," the Doctor pointed out. "It's spot on a trading lane through this area of space; one of the most trafficked areas of this galaxy." He loved being able to impart some knowledge whenever he could. The intrigue in Clara's lovely eyes whenever he had her attention was addictive.
As the pair walked, the Doctor happened to notice those enjoying iced coffee drinks seemed a bit...spacey. He overheard one patron mumble something to the effect of "this tastes...lovelier than usual", with a wobbly smile. As no alcohol or drugs were allowed on the planet, he couldn't help but wonder what was causing such a befuddled state. He packed his observations away in his mind for a moment, but kept them close by for easy access, as it seemed he'd need them again before long.

She laughed, the kind of laugh that reached her eyes. She could hardly believe he'd gotten to know his coffees, and she couldn't contain it, what with the way his scottish accent skewered jitter juice. It was definitely an improvement from his last one, which had been all weird English-sounding. She wondered if he'd done it just for her sake, or if there was an underlying reason.
Her brown gaze watched with piqued interest as he done the finger-in-the-air thing. As unphased she should have been -- and maybe part of her was quite used it by now -- she still found it a little entertaining. The brunette crossed her arms, also cleverly suspecting that he most likely did it to show off more than anything else. She gave him a knowing smile. "I think you cheated." she teased.
When they arrived, she could already feel the tingling of her skin -- but it wasn't from any amount of caffeine, or, at least, she didn't think so. Excitement bustling under her button-up and cardigan, she practically ran out of those double doors, only to let her hand grip one of the edges for just a moment to keep her grounded while her chocolate orbs wandered, and she listened to her older Timelord friend while the wonderful aromas wafted through their vicinity.
It wasn't long before they were walking, and she naturally fell in step beside him. Her chestnut irises looked over as he explained the business of the planet. She was still taking it all in, and her expression, her eyes, were certainly intrigued. It was a place like she had never dreamed, and she was eager to see what it had in store for them. "Where should we start?" she asked, eyebrows hooked, her gaze darting about, spotting so many flavours and so many different ways to ingest the magical bean of life to notice the vacancy of passerby eyes.
