"What do you mean?" he questioned dumbly at first and then realized what she was talking about and pulled back out the psychic paper. "Oh this! Isn't it clever! Psychic paper, lets the viewers see whatever you want them too see...unless of course your like Torchwood or some of UNIT and train to be immune or are an alien that's immune to psychic abilities, then it won't work and you'll look pretty right stupid. But I've got to admit, it has come pretty in handy over the centuries. You're welcome to look at it."
He handed her the psychic paper to examine. It was very basic, just a paper in a wallet type cover. Made it easy to make one self look like someone official that way.
"I can get you one if you'd like. You're my companion, and friend after all. Its the least I could do...ya know...." he stated and trailed off a bit. He gave a very soft smirk. He wouldn't admit it but he was probably going to give her one anyway, because as he was...The Doctor...he already knew her future and all the great works and things she'd do to save planet Earth when he couldn't. She was a defender and champion of humankind and he knew it. She didn't yet, not fully how much she'd become a part of the heart of the safety of her planet, but he did, and he couldn't thank her ever enough for it. Plus, he still felt like he had to make up for leaving her behind all those many faces ago. So a piece of psychic paper would make up for that at least a tiny smidgen. besides, it would be useful to the work she'd do in the future and he knew it.

She scrutinized the paper as he handed it to her. Inspections, for Extraordinary Lt.with a seal that looked like the company logo. It looked perfectly legitimate. It did not get passed her that the wonder was not so much that the identification was so believable, it was that somehow the Doctor had managed to produce it out of the blue. Psychic paper. Well, the name certainly said a lot. "Very clever." she mulled, frowning, as she watched the elevator levels scroll down and down. Sarah Jane gave him a sideways look. "You know, what I really miss is having a sonic screwdriver around." That would be ever so much more important than this fake-identity gadget. Sarah Jane had fair credentials enough on Earth that she was rarely turned away from anywhere. They got out on the seventh sub floor, just as she intended. Out the door, down the way, then off to the left was exactly what she was looking for. Computer access for this refill station they'd come to. Granted, the home page was all about refueling. But she also knew it connected to the greater system as well. "I don't suppose-" She looked at the Doctor hopefully, and waved a magic hand over the system. "You can break into the main system for me. I was thinking just a map would do, but a map that names the different rooms."

The Doctor listened to her talk. Her voice was just...well if he could describe it in one word...home. Homey, very much home like. It was familiar and safe and comfortable. Like slipping on ones cozy slippers and grabbing a good cup of tea just so you could sit and read a book for hours on end. That was Sarah Jane. When her voice came to the talk of wishing of a sonic screwdriver, he sort of lit up inside and even got just that slight bit of a goody grin of knowing on his face. Oh so much a spoiler there as River would put it. The things Sarah Jane would come to do and right now is doing. Just simply amazing all around. There was no one else quite like her really. One of a kind Sarah Jane. And he wouldn't replace her for the universe itself. Not even a copy could truly match to the original.
As for the helping question she gave. He was more than ready to oblige. He'd become very fond and very much attached to the use of his sonic. So much so that it may have sadly become an addictive extension of himself really. But who cared, he didn't. It was useful and that was what mattered. Plus he might be able to do so much more than just simple maps for her. But he could at least grant her the maps as was anyway. The sonic was certainly capable of that on a simple human computer.
"Thought you'd never ask." he teased. He then took out his sonic its very much long handle and extendable end with claw like prongs thrusting towards the computers, its tip now whirring with sound as it engaged the computer like some sort of interface. The computer moved through with images, videos (most likely security), papers, etc. it was still pre good personal computers after all. Oh how the old systems made him feel achey all over, yet left him utterly fascinated and grateful all at once as these computers weren't as complicated as something from the twenty first century. Eventually he was able to get exactly anything and everything both of them might need. "There we go. Now, let's look and see what we got."
He looked at her, "What is it we are exactly looking for by the way?"

It was all a blur and a thrill in front of her human eyes as the Doctor did his magic on the computer console. He made it all look so easy. Well, with the Doctor, around it was. It was more than easy, it was quite spectacularly fun. Oh, her talented friend with is magic wand, doing in seconds what would have taken her half a day if situation had allowed for such indulgences of time. Sarah Jane had only hoped to pull some information out of the system, where her best friend had dragged it all out and shuffled it in front of her with all the skill of a casino dealer. Now, Sarah Jane Smith couldn't say that she didn't love her job. She did. She'd created it after all anyway, hadn't she? But it was a job indeed, and now in a matter of seconds, the Doctor had cut the work more than in half. She reached out, grinning, and every so carefully booped the end of his perfect nose with a fingertip. She was so pleased, she wasn't even going to tease him about the size and complexity of the Sonic Screwdriver he was wielding these days. It was . . . .very impressive in a showy kind of way. Work had turned into a game the moment her friend had arrived from whenever and wherever he'd been. "Well done. I see you haven't lost your touch." she grinned at him, then turned back to the monitor screen. "This is fabulous." she said, in a more hushed tone, placing her hands backwards over the lip of the table and bracing herself for what was to come with a lightness in her heart. To his question, she flung him a glance, her amusement and joy still clear on her face. "We're looking for answers I don't know the questions to yet."She supposed they could try wading through all those in-house reports that had scrolled past almost too quickly to identify, but she knew it would be easier to just take a stab at the heart of things. Surely, when they got there, the Doctor would be able to figure out just what in the hell had been going on in the underground sewers of London. "Map pointing the way to a laboratory should do it." Her voice dropped and became more serious as she stared into the screen. "That should give us some idea on what's been mucking about London these days."
